Our client, a well-established and reputable servicesector business have an exciting new job opportunity for a qualified accountantto join them as Tax Specialist within their wider European finance team tosupport on UK tax requirements.
Your new role
The purpose of the role is to provide specialist tax advice and support to the business for the first time internally as part of a sustained period of growth within the organisation. You will report directly into the CFO and provideplex tax knowledge and solutions ensuring sufficient focus.
Role responsibilities include:
1. Maintenance and development of tax strategy
2. Development & documentation of tax risks & control environment including Criminal Corporatepliance / supporting SAOpliance
3. Delivery of internal training to finance / non finance staff regarding taxpliance issues
4. Submission of VAT & Instrat returns across >6 countries including liaison with overseas agents
5. Tax accounting and management of payments/repayments of VAT
6. Advice on deductibility
7. Draft tax provisioning throughout the year for management accounting purposes
8. Identification of expenditure suitable for R&D credits, capital allowances
9. Maintaining transfer pricing agreements andpany policy for all inter-group trades (with support of external group advisors)
10. Identification & sourcing of grant funding available for thepany’s operation
What you'll need to succeed
11. Qualified accountant with CTA, ICAS, ACCA
12. Sound technical tax legislation knowledge
13. Experience working in In-house tax or with multinational clients within Practice
14. Experience in liaising with HMRC
15. Ability to spot cost saving opportunities for the business
16. Transfer Pricing and /or R&D exposure in previous role
17. Analytical with attention to detail.
18. Self-starter and able to work independently.
19. Advanced knowledge of Excel and various accounting package software (eg SAP).
