School Office Administrator Ash Meadow School is an Independent Specialist School based in Sutton Manor, St Helens, Merseyside. Our aim is to provide individualised education to students with Autism and other sensory processing disorders in a calm and safe environment. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic school office administrator to join our established hard-working team. The successful candidate will have experience working as an administrator in an educational environment, have excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. Experience using MIS and good IT skills is a must, including Excel and other Microsoft packages. Job description Contract type: Full Time/ Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week; 8:30 - 16:00 Salary: £24,636.15 (actual salary) Holiday entitlement: 8 Weeks per year, 6 of which to be taken in school holidays Reporting to: Headteacher Main responsibilities and tasks The Administrator, under the direction of the Headteacher, will take a significant role in working: To provide smooth, effective, and efficient administrative support to the school. To support the school's administration function with shared responsibility for the operation of the Management Information System To bring forward thinking administrative experience and ability to use the latest technologies and programmes. To monitor and actively manage attendance and punctuality across the school and college. To function as Clerk to the governors and take highly accurate minutes of governance and Senior Leadership meetings. To monitor and actively manage procedures relating to admissions, managing induction paperwork for new students, and securing the transfer of both manual and computerised records. To be the first point of contact to provide a welcoming and professional reception service to all visitors and callers to the school. To work accurately under pressure to meet multiple deadlines, taking initiative when required. To work together as part of the school office administration team To undertake other duties as directed by the Senior Leadership team. About You As part of the team, you will be expected to have/be: Excellent numeracy and literacy skills GCSE/A levels (or equivalent) in Maths and English Sound experience of a full range of administrative tasks General knowledge of office procedures Experience with school safeguarding procedures The have an awareness of working children with Autism/Sensory Processing Experience of working in a school reception Familiarity with a school's safeguarding policy Some experience dealing with attendance and admissions in a school setting. Be competent in the use of a wide range of ICT packages including Microsoft office: Word; Excel; PowerPoint. Can communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with members of the public, colleagues, students, and official visitors. Be able to prioritise own workload and identify problems that may require actions by others. Work constructively and flexibly as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities. The ability to establish, improve and develop systems.
