Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Role Summary
This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity providing a high standard of Occupational Therapy services. You will work as an autonomous practitioner delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic management of children across Northern Lincolnshire (based in Scunthorpe). Responsibilities include independent management of a caseload of CYP aged 0‑19 years, equipment provision, DFG process assessments, supervision, education, audit and service development.
Main duties of the job
* Independent management of a caseload of CYP aged 0‑19 years, providing assessment, intervention and support as an autonomous practitioner.
* Complete assessment and provision of equipment and undertake assessments as part of the DFG process in accordance with guidance and best practice.
* Work with the team and Lead for Children’s Occupational Therapy to support elements of service development and improvement.
* Contribute to statutory assessments (EHCP).
* Support education and training of others in delivery of OT recommendations.
Responsibilities
* Supervise, educate and support non registered staff and provide specialised advice across health, education and social care professionals.
* Undertake evidence‑based audit, research projects and service developments to further own and team’s clinical practice.
* Make recommendations and lead implementation of changes to practice or contribute to development of service protocols.
* Develop skills and knowledge through participation in professional development programmes and competency framework.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC registration.
* Postgraduate study in appropriate clinical areas (e.g., MSc modules in Paediatrics).
* Wide range of CPD activities, especially related to specialist area.
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Postgraduate experience in Occupational Therapy across a range of clinical areas, including neurological, community and equipment experience.
* Experience of working with at least one complex clinical pathway.
* Postgraduate experience in paediatrics.
* Experience with a variety of specialised paediatric equipment.
Leadership
* Evidence of supervision and delegation.

Benefits
Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata per annum.
