North Lanarkshire is the largest local authority social landlord in Scotland with approximately 36, council houses. Within the Housing service there are four Locality offices covering Airdrie/Cumbernauld, Coatbridge/Kilsyth, Bellshill/Motherwell and Wishaw/Shotts with our Rents team located in Viewpark.
This is a new post created to assist with our Hospital Discharge process. Based within Central Operations within the Civic Centre, Motherwell, the role will involve liaising with colleagues in Adult Health & Social Care and the NHS to assist in improving discharge timescales. This will include working with our Housing Locality staff and Registered Social Landlords to ensure sustainable housing solutions are achieved for patients who are unable to return to their home due to medical issues.
Educated to SVQ Level 3 / HNC (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent in a relevant discipline is essential, as is some experience working in a housing or customer service environment.Some knowledge of housing related legislation and practice is desirable. Excellent IT and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as experience in report writing are also essential. In addition, you should have some experience of, and, be committed to customer care and be able to relate to people, particularly the most vulnerable in our communities who need our support. Placement on/or progression to the NLC9 grade is dependent on applicants having extended relevant experience working across a front-line housing service or similar front-line fieldwork service, holding the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing (SCQF Level 7 or above) and demonstrating/evidencing competence in the objectives identified within PRD Framework.
Possession of a current driving licence is essential
You will require to be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
You will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
It is a requirement of the post that you participate in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service roster during evenings and weekends. Payments for periods of Standby will be made in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement. Pool cars are available for use by standby officers.
This is a temporary position until 15/07/
Work pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45 - 16:45 (including a 55 minute unpaid break)
Friday: 08:45 - 16:15 (including a 50 minute unpaid break)
