The Role
Our vibrant and dynamic service compromising of one fantastic team who provides complex support alongside vocational opportunities to adults with autism, physical and learning difficulties at out hub and out in community settings are wanting you to join in the fun! Our Connect Hub provide 1:1 and griup support to individuals who come to out building as well as encouraging and enabling community connectedness.
As a Support Practitioner, you'll be involved in a mixture of group activities chosen by the people we support daily. The great thin about this job is that no two days are the same, there's never a dull moment with lots going on.
The people we support are fun loving and enjoy being out and about, you will support them to be involved in their community, and participate in their hobbies and interests, which include watching the rugby, football and wrestling, keeping fit, going swimming, iMuse therapy, knitting, gardening and cooking. Our aim is to enable the people we support to live a fulfilling and valued life, where they can achieve their own personal goals and aspirations. You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person-centred care and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes within their personal plan, which you will keep up to date and relevant.
About you
You don't need experience as a Support Worker or Carer to join Cornerstone. We recruit on values and transferrable skills, we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
All we’ll need you to bring is:-

6. Confidence to go in the water as swimming is one of our regular activities

9. ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people including other agencies and health professionals involved in care.
It would great if you also hold a full, clean UK driving license as our service does own some mobility cars, but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidates.
Shift Patterns
Our dedicated, fantastic and friendly team provide support within the hours of - hours Monday to Friday; however as out service grows, we will be providing occasional evening and weekend support. We will need you to bring an element of flexibility and willingness to work across all shift patterns when needed. Due to the nature of the service, the number of hours worked per week can vary but will total hours per month (an average of 39 hours per week).
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
