Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in a vibrant care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, with specific experience in assisted living and nursing home settings, as well as a strong knowledge of administration. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall management of the facility, ensuring high standards of care for our residents, particularly those with dementia and Alzheimer's. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to implement care plans and provide leadership to staff. A pivotal part of the job is administration, so having that knowledge is key.
The job entails supernumerary hours along with working with the staff on the floor.
Duties
* Assist in the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Supervise and support nursing staff, providing guidance on medication administration and resident care.
* Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to meet the needs of residents.
* Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity and respect for all residents.
* Collaborate with families and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
* Monitor resident wellbeing and report any concerns or changes in condition to the management team.
* Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members.
Skills
* Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings isn't required however beneficial.
* Strong background in nursing with a focus on senior care.
* Excellent leadership skills with prior supervising experience.
* Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills for interaction with residents, families, and staff.
