Clerical Officer – Health Records

Shift Pattern: Monday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30 minute lunch) and Tuesday – Friday 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30 minute lunch). This post is permanent. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours. From 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
Initial base location: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The role is GGC‑wide and may be moved to any location.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff.
* Ensure patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions are administered and processed accurately.
* Maintain patient records confidential, securely stored and available as required.
* Maintain electronic and paper‑based patient record systems, providing confidential, accurate and up‑to‑date information.
* Maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of the patient management system.
Qualifications
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in three subjects, including English, or equivalent.
* General administration and office experience or previous clerical experience desirable.
* Computer‑literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System desirable; training will be provided.
