About The Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the Waitrose quality and Partner-led service directly to customers’ doors. When you’re not on the road, you’ll be back in-store supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team. Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Check delivery routes for the day.
* Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery to customers.
* Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and adhere to health and safety standards.
* Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as a priority.
* Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
* Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Great customer service skills.
* Time management skills.
* Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
* Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
* IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
