Base Maintenance and Modifications Licensed Aircraft Engineer – B1.1/B1.2/C
Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 10 hour shift
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Up to £81,256 basic salary. Additional payments may be available dependent on approvals held.

Our Capability Development Division designs, manufactures, installs, tests and certifies modifications to aircraft for specific missions.
Responsibilities
* Supervision of licenced and non-licenced personnel during Base Maintenance inputs and Modification Programmes.
* Certifying of fabricated parts and/or modification of structural components on Beech 200 and 300 Series aircraft, Piper PA31 aircraft and other company aircraft.
* Assisting with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
* Conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures.
* Removal or installation of aircraft components as required.
* Support with mechanical or electrical removals and installations as needed.
* Perform and document work completed as per the appropriate manuals and regulations stipulate.
* Ensure work is completed in a safe and timely manner, whilst helping with the upkeep of Maintenance facilities and equipment.
The base team currently work 10 hour shifts Monday to Thursday – contributing to a long weekend and work-life balance.
About You
You will hold an unrestricted UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.1 Licence, ideally with Beech 200 and 300 type ratings or similar. A UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.2 Licence with a Piper PA31 type rating or Group 3 rating would be a significant advantage, as would a UK CAA Part 66 Category C endorsement.
Experience of modifications, sheet metal work, structural and composite repairs is highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting and working with mechanical engineering drawings. You’ll be an experienced sheet metal worker, with training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or an apprenticeship in the field. You’ll have effective communication skills, in both written and verbal form, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business, including clearly articulating the aircraft status. Proficiency with IT and owning a basic set of hand tools with inventory control are expected.
Current up-to-date Safety Training including Human Factors is advantageous; recurrent training can be provided. You will need to provide proof of Initial Human Factors Training, EWIS and FTS. Due to the nature of the work, applicants need to be a UK national and able to obtain Security Clearance.
