Job Title: Part-Time Legal Bookkeeper / Admin Support, Belfast City Centre, £Neg Overview: A prestigious and busy local general practice law firm in Belfast city centre, with a team of four solicitors, is looking to recruit a part-time Legal Bookkeeper. The role may also include part-time administration and conveyancing secretarial duties, depending on the candidates skills and preferences. The firm is flexible and open to considering candidates for bookkeeping only, or a combined bookkeeping and admin/conveyancing role. Key Responsibilities: Legal Bookkeeping: Manage client accounts and office accounts in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR). Prepare bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and process financial transactions accurately. Generate invoices and monitor aged debtors. Prepare VAT returns and support external audits. Liaise with fee earners regarding financial reporting and matter-related cost management. Admin / Conveyancing Support (if applicable): Assist with day-to-day administration for conveyancing matters. Draft letters, manage documentation, and maintain client files. Support solicitors with general secretarial tasks as needed. Essential Skills and Experience: Experience in legal bookkeeping within a law firm environment. Strong understanding of client accounts and compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Previous conveyancing administration or secretarial experience is desirable but not essential. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, ALB, Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office.
