Overview

We are recruiting a highly motivated, qualified and HCPC/NMC registered Anaesthetic ODP or RN (with an anaesthetic qualification) to join our Theatre team at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The role involves working as part of the anaesthetic team within a busy General District Hospital setting in North Wales, with immediate access to major routes and local attractions.

The Anaesthetic ODPs/Anaesthetic RNs are part of the hospital cardiac arrest/trauma team, respond to emergency bleeps, and work closely with the ITU, supporting internal and external patient transfers. All practitioners are encouraged to participate in training and personal development.


Responsibilities

* The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based patient care across the peri-operative period.
* Provide skilled assistance in the anaesthetic, surgical and post-operative care of the patient.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient needs with minimal direct supervision.
* Assist in the management and organisation of clinical and satellite areas, implementing improvements identified by audit/clinical trials.
* Participate in the education and development of other staff members.
* Utilise clinical skills during the anaesthetic, surgical and post-anaesthetic care phases of the peri-operative period.
* Welsh language ability is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are welcome.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential criteria

* HCPC / NMC Registration
* Previous experience of working in theatres covering a wide variety of surgical specialities
* Diploma He or BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice (UK)

Desirable criteria

* Teaching / Mentoring Qualification
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Welsh speaking (desirable)
