Job Overview: You will lead new machine development, product enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives to improve efficiency and long-term sustainability, whilst also focussing on standards compliance, process optimisation, and post-conformance improvements. This is a critical role for someone passionate about innovation and driven to ensure we meet and exceed our ambitious global growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the electrical and control system design of new products, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and safety standards.
· Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory frameworks including EN ISO 13849, EN 1175, ISO 3691, and the Machinery Directive.
· Develop detailed electrical schematics and harness drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
· Specify, design, and validate control system components.
· Collaborate on software development where necessary to support control strategies or interface design (C/C++, Qt).
· Champion functional safety principles across designs, including risk analysis, PL calculations, and validation procedures.
· Define test protocols and conduct functional and compliance testing, including electrical safety.
· Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements and design best practices.
· Provide expert assistance to the technical support team in diagnosing and resolving electrical and software-related issues.
· Act as a subject matter expert in design reviews and external audits.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Systems Engineering.
· Strong industry experience in electrical design and control system development, preferably for industrial or mobile machinery.
· Deep knowledge of electronics, power systems, battery technologies, and motor control (AC, DC).
· Solid understanding of functional safety (ISO 13849), EMC principles, and the Machinery Directive.
· Familiarity with embedded system architecture and software development tools.
· Experience with electrical CAD software (e.g., solid edge electrical, or similar).
· Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
