We're currently offering an opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work full time in a School in Shipley from Easter until Summer.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with students with SEMH needs in a secondary educational setting.
2. HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
3. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.
6. Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
7. A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
Responsibilities:
8. Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom, to promote academic and personal development.
9. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies effectively.
10. Lead small group interventions and facilitate social skills development activities to enhance student's emotional resilience and well-being.
11. Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
12. Foster positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support and continuity of care.
13. Uphold high expectations for behaviour and conduct, modelling positive attitudes and behaviours for students to emulate.
14. Contribute to the maintenance of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
