Welcome and join us in our purpose-built hospital!
We are a RCVS accredited, Primary Care Practice that is based in Guilford. We provide the highest standard of veterinary care for small animals in a friendly and professional environment. Our practices are continuously being updated to ensure that our pets are being cared for in the best way possible, through our facilities and caring team.
We moved into our purpose-built hospital in 2022 and we are super excited about what the future holds. Come and join us, be part of this new adventure.
We offer orthopaedic surgeries and also have Vets within the team who have a strong interest in exotic patients. This means we will have a radiography suite and an exotic ward built in the new hospital.
Your role and responsibilities
We are ideally looking for someone on a full-time basis with a 1:5 weekend rota (Saturdays only, following Monday off). Our shifts range from 8am - 5pm, 9am - 6pm or 10:30am - 7:30pm. Most of our nurses work this pattern, but we are flexible and are open to longer shifts over 4 days.
We are a passionate, close-knit team and we are looking forward to meeting a new member of the Alder team. The team truly is everything, and we are a nursing team always keen to learn new things and give the best to our patients. We have started introducing schedule 3 procedures for the nurses and we run nurse consults every day. We actively encourage the RVNs taking on projects and pursuing new skills. Working in a purpose-built building also has its perks, we have great facilities and would recommend anyone interested to come for a tour!
Located within walking distance of amenities including a spa and gym as well as a convenient coffee shop, grocery store and a beautiful park, we can offer great facilities outside the hospital as well as inside and hope that this will aid our great work/life balance ethos.
Developing and empowering our nurses is important to us. You will have access to over 150 hours of pre-recorded CPD delivered by our expert clinicians and nurses. All of our nurses receive a robust induction to help you thrive in your new role. On top of this, you will have access to modular courses on a variety of topics including our AVA‑accredited anaesthesia and analgesia modular course.
