Pastoral Support Worker – Secondary School

We’re working with a welcoming secondary school looking for a Pastoral Support Worker who knows that behaviour is communication and that relationships change everything.
This role is all about being that steady, trusted adult in a young person’s day. The one who notices the quiet ones, de-escalates the tough moments, and helps students get back on track, emotionally and academically.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing
* Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need a bit of extra support
* Helping students regulate, reflect, and reset so learning can happen
* Liaising with teachers, SLT, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Being a calm, consistent presence in busy school days
This role could suit you if you’ve worked as a:
* Pastoral Support Worker or Behaviour Mentor
* Youth Worker or Family Support Worker
* SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor
* Sports coach or support worker with strong behaviour experience
We’re looking for someone who:
* Is calm, patient, and confident with secondary-aged students
* Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches
* Can build trust quickly and set clear boundaries
* Cares deeply about helping young people succeed, not just cope
