Associate – Construction & Infrastructure | Top 100 | Hybrid | Major Projects | Public & Developer Work
If you're a construction or commercial projects lawyer looking to move into complex, high-impact infrastructure work, this is a great opportunity to join a nationally recognised team within one of the UK’s most established and forward-thinking full-service firms.
This role sits within the firm’s non-contentious Construction & Engineering team, based in Bristol, working with a close-knit group focused on major infrastructure and development projects. The wider real estate division brings in over £65 million annually, forming a core part of the firm’s £310 million+ turnover. Within the construction sub-team, around 30 fee earners operate across the UK, with five in Bristol dedicated to infrastructure work - covering transport, flood defence, NHS capital projects and large-scale regeneration schemes.
The team has built a strong client base across both the public and private sectors. They're long-standing advisers to central and local government, several NHS Trusts and national developers, and are on panel for multiple top-tier housebuilders. Infrastructure is a strategic growth area for the team, and this role offers the chance to workdirectly with Partners on some of the UK’s most important public-led schemes.
You’ll be drafting and negotiating a range of high-value construction and engineering contracts - everything from NEC4-based frameworks to consultant appointments and bespoke agreements. You’ll support business development initiatives, attend and lead client meetings, contribute to tenders, and supervise junior colleagues where appropriate. The team is collaborative, well-resourced, and committed to structured progression, with genuine support to step into a senior role.
You don’t need existing infrastructure experience, butshould have a solid grounding in construction or commercial contracts, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in the infrastructure or public law space.
The firm offers hybrid working (typically 2 days in office), flexible hours through a well-embedded Flex scheme, and a progressive approach to work-life balance. They’re international in reach, sector-leading in real estate and health, and committed to building long-term careers - backed by high-quality work and clear pathways to senior roles.
