Pay Rate: £30 to £40 per hour (Assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:
* Provide a high quality Occupational Therapy service for young adults adolescent (18-25) with a range of neuro-diverse, neurological conditions and learning disabilities and profound learning disabilities based at college.
* Provide clinical leadership, across adolescent therapy service and team within the college.
* provide specialised assessment and treatment of patients who have highly complex needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to carers and health & social care professionals to ensure optimum delivery of care.
* Work with the MDT to deliver high quality clinical outcomes and autonomously managing OT specific interventions and treatments plans
* Develop training programmes for support staff and teachers,
* Develop collaborative treatment plans with learner, teachers and colleagues, demonstrating high level clinical reasoning and problem solving techniques to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Regularly undertake complex risk assessments and to advise others in determining appropriate management specifically relating to moving and handling and safe use of equipment both in the college.
* Contribute to EHCP meetings and annual review meetings
* Write OT assessments and provide recommendations to support the learners within the college including sensory based equipment
* Effectively liaise with various external agencies within a wide geographical area, including social services, schools, charitable bodies, wheelchair services, splinting clinics, safeguarding teams and specialist seating organisations.
* Responsible for providing clinical leadership in the delivery, co-ordination, and development of the adolescent Occupational Therapy service at the college This involves incorporating evidenced-based practice in the management of patient care.
* Provide effective leadership, management, induction and supervision to occupational therapists, support staff, and students.
* Responsible for planning, evaluating and developing the team and service in conjunction with the Team Lead Physiotherapist and Clinical Lead
* Maintain high professional standards, continuously promoting and developing the Occupational Therapy service and profession.
* Responsible for the maintenance and development of your own continuing professional development (CPD), identifying, implementing and contributing to the evidence base of Occupational Therapy.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
* Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
* Recent NHS experience
* Registered with the HCPC
