TMHCC Stop Loss, a division within TMHCC with a $2 billion portfolio, specializes in medical stop loss insurance for employers. This coverage helps protect self-funded health benefit plans from catastrophic claims.

Position Summary:
Under supervision, the role involves making underwriting recommendations and decisions to safeguard the company's financial assets. Responsibilities include reviewing proposal requests, evaluating risks, establishing and maintaining producer relationships, and exercising defined underwriting authority and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Achieve company goals related to profitability, retention, revenue growth, and new business.
2. Assess risk acceptability and set appropriate rates and factors.
3. Analyze plan changes for acceptability and cost.
4. Collaborate with Marketing to follow up on quotes.
5. Communicate with third-party administrators and brokers to resolve issues and build relationships.
6. Complete RFPs promptly and follow up on status and competitiveness, quoting at least 66% of received RFPs.
7. Occasionally travel to meet external and internal stakeholders.
8. Participate in projects and other assigned activities.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Knowledge:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
* Ability to interpret benefit plans, claims reports, and procedural manuals.
* Knowledge of industry practices, legal updates, and technical developments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with discretion and tact.
* Excellent organizational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Teamwork and adaptability skills.
* Preferred: experience with Young Consulting’s ESLOffice or similar.
