Why choose our Client?
Less than 3 miles from Looe town centre, our client is a luxury 4 star hotel in Looe, Cornwall, with a touch of added quirkiness!
Offering glorious views of the South Cornwall coastline, this boutique hotel boasts a 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant, with a burning desire to achieve a 3rd rosette in the future. Their talented team of chefs use local, seasonal ingredients to prepare dishes for a variety of menus including lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and a tasting menu.
Staff accommodation is available with this position, should you be relocating from outside of the Looe area, and is just a stone’s throw from the hotel.
What’s involved?
As an experienced Pastry Chef, you will have a strong determination to deliver the guests an unforgettable dining experience using high-quality, fresh ingredients. Working to a 2 AA Rosette standard, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the pastry section; from mise en place to plating and be organised in your ability to do this. Everything at the hotel is made in house; from breads to cakes and everything in between, so the successful candidate must be confident in their ability to do this too, and have exceptional attention to detail.
Afternoon tea is popular at this hotel, with each dish tried and tested before it makes it to the menu. You will also need to create recipes and costings for each dish too. In addition to the afternoon tea menu, you will create desserts for a variety of different menus, all to the same exacting standard.
You must be a team player with a positive attitude, willing to help your colleagues in other sections of the kitchen as well as rolling up your sleeves to wash up when needed. You’ll be able to complete tasks in a timely manner without compromising on quality, and always be striving for perfection on every plate.
Previous hotel experience is preferred and applicants should have at least 2 years’ fine dining kitchen experience or equivalent.
Staff accommodation is available with this position, should you be relocating from outside of the Looe area, and is just a stone’s throw from the hotel.
