About The Role

As Head of Service you will help to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love, assist and prepare cakes for the morning tea trolley and lunch‑time desserts, and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene. You will manage food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, show new starters how to use the equipment, and keep the kitchen free from spills.
Responsibilities
You will demonstrate resident well‑being in every task, ensuring the kitchen operates safely and cleanly.
Qualifications
* Kitchen experience
* Knowledge of the Food Safety Act 1990, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR and COSHH regulations
* Excellent record‑keeping and organisational skills
* Ability to follow recipes accurately
* Professional communication with residents and co‑workers, always considerate and kind
Working Conditions
* Pay rate subject to experience and qualifications
* 31.5 hours per week, 8:00am–6:00pm
* Four shifts one week, three shifts the next, on a two‑week rota
