About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a growing team delivering high-value construction projects across multiple sectors. This role offers the opportunity to lead exciting projects, manage subcontractor relationships, and ensure successful delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Understand contract requirements and Conditions of Contract as outlined in tender documentation.
* Comprehend tender pricing structures and strategies, including prelims allowance, and develop effective commercial approaches.
* Create realistic Procurement Schedules in collaboration with the Project Quantity Surveyor (PQS).
* Lead the subcontractor procurement process and ensure timely appointments.
* Conduct regular commercial reviews covering budgetary and cost/value aspects of projects.
* Possess thorough understanding of the CVR process and identify potential contractual claims.
* Attend and actively contribute to subcontractor Pre-Start meetings.
* Collaborate closely with the pre-construction team to develop project programmes, construction methodologies, and logistical plans.
* Ensure site management and operatives are trained appropriately and identify additional training needs.
* Oversee all administrative aspects of projects and ensure effective implementation.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients.
* Compile Information Release Schedules for designers, clients, and statutory bodies, ensuring timely dissemination.
* Conduct daily safety briefings and coordination meetings with subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and project-specific safety requirements.
* Oversee production and timely submission of Project H&S Files, O&Ms, and building manuals.
* Ensure all quality standards are understood by the project team and supply chain and delivered on site.
Qualifications
* Degree in a construction-related discipline.
Essential Criteria
* 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager within a construction contractor environment.
* Strong business acumen with commercial and risk awareness to deliver project profitability.
* Demonstrable experience managing the constructor procurement process.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to support and guide site teams.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
