About the Role:
As Site Supervisor, you will take a hands-on approach to the day-to-day management of the college's buildings and grounds, ensuring they remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. You'll work closely with the Facilities Manager and lead a small team of site staff and contractors to deliver a high standard of site services that support the college's teaching and learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of college buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and fire safety procedures
Manage site security, including opening/locking of premises and site access for staff and visitors
Respond promptly to any emergency repairs or maintenance issues
Support the preparation of classrooms, workshops, and specialist areas such as horticulture spaces
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers
Monitor site budgets and resources as directed
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a facilities, caretaker, or site supervisor role (ideally in an educational setting)
Strong knowledge of building maintenance, health & safety, and compliance requirements
Ability to carry out minor repairs, DIY tasks, and site improvements
Good leadership and communication skills
A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required
