Sales Estimator

Position Summary: Key activities include generating qualified leads, understanding customer needs, developing relationships with prospective clients, and providing detailed estimates and proposals for negotiated work. This role involves customer development, opportunity qualification, and delivering accurate bids with follow-up to clients identified by the sales vice president as suitable prospects.
Job Functions:
* Cultivate relationships with industrial and commercial building owners and facility managers.
* Communicate the company's strengths and value propositions as the preferred roof solution provider.
* Maintain technical knowledge of various roof systems and repair options, primarily for existing buildings.
* Analyze customer roofing needs and match them with appropriate solutions, including replacement, repair, and maintenance.
* Create cost budgets and proposals for client presentations.
* Draft proposals for general contractors, private clients, and others.
* Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare bids and estimates.
* Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
* Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding cost estimate changes.
* Participate in weekly sales meetings and report on activities.
* Ensure proper documentation of estimates, scope of work, and project details for the operations team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
* 5-7 years of sales experience in roofing, construction, or related fields.
* Proven ability to execute the sales process with a focus on profit.
* Understanding of technical and financial aspects of construction operations.
* Effective relationship-building skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience or knowledge of the roofing industry.

Working Conditions:
Office and field environment with exposure to noise, temperature, and jobsite hazards such as ladders and construction materials.
