Overview
This role is responsible for leading technical project delivery within the Powertrain domain, ensuring alignment with programme targets and cross‑functional collaboration. The individual will act as the primary point of contact for one or more vehicle programmes, managing risks, resolving issues, and driving delivery across engineering, commercial, and operations teams.
In this role, you will support the Technical Delivery Manager to manage all Powertrain content for your programme(s) through all stages of development, from concept, through prototype builds and validation, to Launch and into volume production. You will be responsible for ensuring that risks are identified early and issues are resolved quickly, keeping the Product Creation Process on track and to budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify and manage emerging risks affecting the Powertrain as the vehicle design progresses from Concept to Production‑Intent, promptly escalating issues to Management when more support is needed.
* Ensure commodities’ technical, timing and cost assumptions remain aligned with procurement, tooling cost, engineering and development cost budgets.
* Drive a team of engineers to meet commodity requirements, schedule designs, and complete validation activities with minimal cost and time impact.
* Prepare high‑level status summaries for Engineering and Industrialisation Programme teams, and manage the auditable elements of our Product Creation and Delivery System.
* Champion effective change management through engagement at appropriate internal and external networks and forums.
* Contribute to impact analysis and apply risk mitigation techniques to maximise successful implementation.
* Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager.

* Powertrain deliverables met on time/on cost in relation to programme targets.
* Clear status of Powertrain scorecard and metrics tracked and reported against vehicle programme gateways.
* Provide clear timing plan and rollout indications for commodities into the vehicle programme.

Skills Knowledge and Experience Required
* Demonstrable experience of working in a Project Management role with a track record of successful delivery
* Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management
* Methodological approach to work
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
* Ability to travel independently between Client sites throughout the West Midlands
* Fundamental knowledge of the key components constituting vehicle powertrains, internal combustion or electrified propulsion systems
* Knowledge of commercial aspects of project delivery, such as RFI, RFP, supplier selection, capital asset management and budget management / earned value analysis
* Experience of working within a Product Creation and Delivery System, programme management, risk management or structured problem‑solving environment. May include qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, APMP/ChPP, AgilePM, Six Sigma.
* Experience with Project Management or Agile toolsets, such as JIRA, Confluence, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar.
