Pay: £13.27 – £13.84 per hour + Overtime
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 3:30pm

Are you an experienced bandsaw operative, saw operator, or machine operative with a background in manufacturing, engineering, or metal cutting?
Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering company in Markham Vale to recruit skilled and reliable bandsaw operators. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in metal cutting, manufacturing, or machine operation who are looking for long-term, stable employment.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate horizontal bandsaw machinery to cut metal materials to precise specifications
* Set up, adjust, and monitor saws in line with technical drawings and cutting lists
* Process a range of metals and alloys accurately and efficiently
* Perform quality checks using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
* Follow strict health & safety procedures and wear PPE at all times
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
* Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
Pay & Benefits
* £13.27 per hour (rising to £13.84 after probation)
* Overtime rates:
o Time and a half (weekdays & Saturdays)
o Double time (Sundays & Bank Holidays)
* Temp-to-perm opportunity

Requirements
* Proven experience as a bandsaw operative, saw operator, or machine operator
* Background in manufacturing, engineering, or metal cutting
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
* Comfortable with manual handling and working with heavy materials
* Knowledge of health & safety in a manufacturing environment
* Reliable, punctual, and team-focused
