About the role Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Systems Accountant will focus on the analysis, design and optimisation of all financial systems. You will bridge the finance and technology departments, ensuring financial systems are efficient, accurate and aligned with business objectives. You will be essential for optimising financial software, managing system integrations and providing data-driven insights to improve financial reporting and support informed business decisions. Duties & Responsibilities Financial system management: Administering and optimising enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, accounting platforms and other financial software. Data integrity and compliance: Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Technical support and troubleshooting: Providing expert support to finance teams, resolving system-related issues and diagnosing errors. Process automation and improvement: Identifying and implementing automation opportunities and process enhancements to streamline financial operations. Technology implementation and collaboration: Partnering with IT and Finance teams to implement new financial technologies, system upgrades and integrations. Training and development: Conducting training sessions for finance staff on financial software and reporting tools. Financial reporting and analysis: Designing and generating comprehensive financial reports to support business analysis and strategic decision-making. Internal controls and compliance: Ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks and accounting principles. Vendor management: Collaborating with external vendors and stakeholders on system-related projects. Requirements Professional certification: Holding a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA). ERP system expertise: Proven experience with leading ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Sage. Analytical and problem-solving abilities: Demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex technical and financial issues. Financial reporting proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles. Software and data analysis skills: Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. Process improvement and automation: Expertise in identifying and implementing process improvements and automation solutions like lean finance. Communication and collaboration: Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration between finance and IT teams. Attention to detail and accuracy: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. System implementation and troubleshooting: Experience in system implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
