Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing & Stock Control Manager to oversee and optimise our inventory management processes. Responsibilities Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to maintain optimal stock levels. Experience in Lean principles, ideally ABC analysis, MOQ & EOQ,JIT to name a few. Monitor stock levels, track inventory movement, and conduct regular audits to prevent stock shortages or overstocking. Maintain accurate records of all stock transactions. ensuring data integrity. Collaborate with, warehouse and other teams to align stock levels with demand forecasts and business objectives. Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and develop strategies to reduce levels. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system stock levels, ensuring timely adjustments and accountability. Forecast demand and plan stock replenishment accordingly to avoid shortages or excess. Generate detailed inventory reports, analyse trends, and provide insights to senior management for decision-making. Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely stock deliveries and efficient warehouse operations. Conduct risk assessments and implement loss prevention strategies to minimise stock shrinkage. Use your previous knowledge of working with stock management software to be a key player in the team to implement new stock management software. Qualifications A minimum 5 years proven experience in inventory control, stock management, or a related field. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for liaising with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accurate record-keeping. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, warehouse operations, and stock control techniques. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
