Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Senior Knowledge Engineer at Craxel UK, based in Belfast. The Senior Knowledge Engineer will focus on developing, designing, and managing advanced knowledge systems.
Responsibilities
Creating and maintaining knowledge representations and graphs, ensuring data contextualization, and supporting AI readiness. Daily duties also involve collaborating with cross‑functional teams to analyze, structure, and optimise complex data sets for decision‑making processes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
* 5+ years of experience designing and deploying data‑driven or knowledge‑based systems in production environments.
* Hands‑on experience with data modeling, ontologies, graph databases, or knowledge representation frameworks (e.g., RDF, OWL, SPARQL, property graphs).
* Familiarity with distributed systems, data pipelines, and streaming or event‑based architectures.
* Experience integrating heterogeneous data sources (structured, unstructured, geospatial, and temporal) into unified analytic frameworks.
* Understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, or LLM grounding concepts, especially in relation to structured data or retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG).
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on delivering mission impact under evolving requirements.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work directly with customers and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work in ambiguous, high‑stakes environments and take ownership of end‑to‑end technical delivery.
* Passion for solving real‑world problems using cutting‑edge data technologies and for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with knowledge engineering.
