We are partnering with a fast‑growing water‑industry consultancy that operates across Scotland, England and the Midlands. They are recruiting a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater projects.
Role Overview
A Civil Engineer will play a central role in shaping project outcomes, mentoring junior engineers and driving design quality across multidisciplinary teams. This hybrid position offers a mix of on‑site and remote work, with flexible working patterns designed to support work‑life balance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
* 1 to 4 years experience in civil engineering design, preferably within the water or wastewater industry
* Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
* Strong understanding of water engineering principles, hydraulic systems and infrastructure design
* Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as COM regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
* Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
* Professional licensure or chartered status is desirable
* Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a willingness to work towards chartership with a relevant institution (ICE, CIWEM or loW)
* Proactivity, responsibility and multitasking abilities are key skills for the role
