Position: Associate Medical Director Specialised Services Commissioning for Women and Children (JCC).
Following the establishment of the NWJCC on 1st April 2024 and a recent organisational restructure, we are seeking an Associate Medical Director Specialised Services Commissioning for Women and Children, Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) to support our journey as a newly formed organisation.
The NWJCC is a joint committee of the seven health boards in Wales, with a Chair and Lay Members. We support collaborative commissioning across Wales, with around 120 staff based in Mold and Nantgarw/Treforest. Our mission is to be The Centre of Excellence for Collaborative Commissioning, improving health and care outcomes across Wales. We commission around 220 services, from NHS 111 and ambulance services to specialised rare disease services, and mental health, operating a £1.14bn budget.

The post is at national level, with specific responsibility for providing medical support to the commissioning of specialised services for women and children for the population of Wales. This is a post for a Consultant or General Practitioner within the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC).
The Associate Clinical Director has specific responsibility for the provision of expert clinical advice and leadership to support the Women and Children Commissioning Team. They will inform an evidence-based approach within ethical frameworks for providing and developing high quality equitable services for Women and Children.

Qualifications
* Professionals eligible for NHS Wales Consultant or General Practitioner roles.
* Experience in commissioning or clinical leadership in children and women's health is desirable.
* Willingness to engage with Welsh and/or English-speaking teams and stakeholders.
