Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Seamstress to join our chair manufacturing team. The role focuses on sewing and assembling fabric and leather components for a range of chairs, including dining chairs, armchairs, office chairs, and recliners. You will play a key role in producing high-quality upholstery covers and soft furnishings to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cut, sew, and assemble fabric or leather components for chair upholstery
* Follow patterns, measurements, and design specifications accurately
* Match patterns, seams, and stitching for a high-quality finish
* Operate industrial sewing machines and cutting equipment safely and efficiently
* Work closely with upholsterers and production staff to ensure correct fit and finish
* Inspect finished pieces to ensure quality and consistency
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
* Assist with fabric preparation and basic upholstery tasks where required
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a seamstress or industrial machinist (upholstery experience preferred)
* Confident using industrial sewing machines and cutting tools
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Ability to work to deadlines in a production environment
* Good manual dexterity and ability to sit or stand for extended periods
* Experience working with upholstery fabrics or leather is an advantage
* Relevant qualifications or training in sewing or textiles are beneficial
