Some key information This is a hybrid role with a requirement to attend County Hall at least one day a fortnight for team collaboration. 30 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays. You will assume a senior role within the council’s Cyber Security team. The team operates on a rota basis, covering cyber security functions within the detect, prevent and respond framework. This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, covering hours between 08:00 and 18:00. What will I be doing? We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve: Incident response Vulnerability management Security Incident and Event Management Security maintenance activities Forensics and reporting What kind of experience or qualifications do I need? But it will really help if you: Have previous experience of working within a cyber security field, with strong knowledge and skills in computer networking, operating systems and associated hardware. Ideally, you will also hold relevant qualifications in cyber security and computing, such as a degree in a computing field and Microsoft certifications. You will be committed to continuous self-development and can demonstrate this journey. You will be comfortable working under pressure, as part of a high-profile team delivering critical services with critical outcomes. You will be analytical, intuitive, tenacious and have great problem-solving abilities.
