Cleaning Manager – Norwich
A well-established service provider is looking to appoint a hands-on Cleaning Manager to oversee a key site-based operation in Norwich. This role would suit someone with strong operational leadership, a good understanding of service delivery, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams, driving performance, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the operation.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard
2. Lead, support, and motivate the cleaning team, maintaining accountability, engagement, and consistent performance across the operation
3. Plan rotas, allocate duties, and manage absence cover to ensure the site remains fully resourced and service levels are maintained
4. Carry out regular inspections, audits, and quality checks, taking corrective action where standards fall below expectation
5. Monitor service delivery against agreed standards, schedules, KPIs, and client expectations, ensuring continuous improvement where needed
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, hygiene standards, COSHH requirements, and safe working practices
7. Build strong working relationships with on-site stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and a professional approach at all times
8. Manage stock, equipment, and general cleaning resources effectively, ensuring availability, proper usage, and cost control
Requirements
9. Previous experience in a Cleaning Manager, Cleaning Supervisor, Site Manager, Area Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar operational leadership role
10. Strong people management experience, with the ability to lead teams, manage performance, and maintain high service standards
11. Background in cleaning, facilities management, soft services, or another service-led operational environment
12. Good understanding of health and safety, hygiene standards, compliance, and operational best practice within a cleaning or FM setting
13. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to day-to-day operational demands
