Senior Administrator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Administrator to join the Perinatal Mental Health Service within the Doncaster Care Group. The successful applicant will provide confidential, quality administrative services to the Perinatal Team, managing correspondence, facilitating service meetings, maintaining records and supporting staff and service users.
Main duties
- Provide senior confidential and quality administrative service to the Perinatal Mental Health Service.
- Communicate effectively, accurately and professionally, using discretion and empathy in written, telephone and face‑to‑face contact with patients, service users, visitors, other Trust staff and external agencies.
- Work toward KPI’s and targets set by the commissioner/trust.
- Exchange routine information with colleagues and clients with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintain high quality work and encourage others to do the same as a senior team member.
- Update annual leave and daily cover rotas to ensure adequate cover at all times.
- Ensure the smooth running of the administration staff and all clinics, liaising with clinical staff when required.
- Resolve day‑to‑day problems within the admin team, such as staffing or technological issues, to maintain continuity of services.
Qualifications
- Educated to NVQ 2 level or equivalent in appropriate subject (e.g., Business Administration).
- Good standard of education (minimum 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths).
- Previous NHS experience or other large public sector organisation advantage.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a busy environment, office procedures and workload management.
- Thorough understanding of confidentiality and security of information.
- Experience with an online patient record system such as SystmOne is an advantage.
Knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Creative and innovative approach.
Skills
- Evidence of IT skills (Microsoft Office).
- Willingness to participate in continued professional development and attend new courses on IT software.
