Vacancies within Secondary Schools for August (Permanent and Temporary Positions)

Every school across our large estate has been part of an £m+ modernisation programme, with the aim of creating an additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire that meets the needs and benefits all of our pupils.

We are committed to the education, care and welfare of all our young people and are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic teachers to be part of our team.

South Lanarkshire Council adopt an inclusive approach to education. Being offered employment as a teacher may result in you working with pupils in supported classes and ASN bases within our establishments.

You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate, with our aim of high-quality learning and teaching at the core of our education provision.

You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".

6. Are you able to obtain Roman Catholic Church approval by providing a reference from your priest or other suitable individual? YES/NO
7. Personal and Professional Development: With reference to the job profile what personal and professional development skills and experience can you bring to this post
8. Interpersonal Skills and Communication Skills: Please evidence how you can demonstrate a range of interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Please detail your knowledge of the current school curriculum content.
10. For application question - “Can you please provide evidence of your experience and achievements which make you suitable for this post, including the transferable skills and attributes you could bring to this post” please include relevant CLPL courses attended and any other information that will support your application; everything else should be outlined questions 1-5 above which you will have included in your attachment.

Reference:

Please ensure that you fully complete the reference section on the application form. It is essential that you provide details of your current line manager as your referee. You will be required to bring a completed reference with you to interview for the panel to review. This will then be verified with your line manger should you be successful in securing a post.

Church Approval:

Should you be successful in securing a post within a Roman Catholic school, you will be required to submit your diocese approval immediately to personnel service, to allow your recruitment checks to be carried out. Motherwell Diocese have agreed you can apply for this now at the application stage, asking for approval within any Roman Catholic primary/secondary school in South Lanarkshire. You will be required to bring your diocese approval with you to interview for the panel to review, so please begin the process of requesting this now. This approval will then be updated in partnership with the Diocese should you be successful in securing a post.
