Contracts Manager - RC Frame & Groundworks (Water Infrastructure)
Location: East of England (Cambridge to South Essex corridor)
Salary: £100,000 - £110,000 OR £550/day (freelance)

The Company
A well‑established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is expanding into the East of England, delivering reinforced concrete and groundworks packages on major water treatment and infrastructure projects. With a strong order book and a reputation for quality delivery, the company is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects within the region.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of several concurrent RC & groundworks projects within the water sector, ensuring operational excellence across programme, safety, quality, and commercial performance. Working closely with senior leadership and project delivery teams, you’ll be instrumental in establishing the company’s presence in a new regional market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead multiple civil engineering and groundworks schemes from start to completion.
* Manage project teams, site managers, and engineers to deliver on time and to budget.
* Oversee project programmes, risk management, and technical delivery.
* Drive best practice in health, safety, and environmental performance.
* Build and maintain client relationships to support future framework growth.
* Provide operational input to tenders, pre‑starts, and handovers.
* Support recruitment and regional team development as the division grows.
About You:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager in RC frame and groundworks, ideally within water treatment or infrastructure.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across the East region.
* Sound understanding of NEC and project delivery within civils environments.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
