Hays are working with an expanding business who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their small accounting team based in South Shrewsbury.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Director, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for carrying out the Sales and Purchase Ledger and Credit Control functions within the Finance Team and providing support to ensure monthly accounts arepleted in a timely manner.The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills/experience:
1. Credit control – chasing outstanding debts and managing ledger
2. Credit checks and stop lists
3. Sales ledger – Producing invoices and credit notes
4. Post and allocate cash
5. Purchase legger – processing invoices, reconciling statements, resolving supplier queries and assisting with payment runs.
6. CIS payment allocation.
What you'll need to succeed
You should have experience in credit control, sales ledger and purchase ledger as well as good It skills, including Excel.
Goodmunication skills and the ability to work well within a small team are essential.
Due to the location of the role, own transport if advisable.
