Senior Project Manager – Children’s Services

Role Overview
Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead key projects within its Children and Education Services Transformation Programme.
The successful candidate will manage and deliver a range of transformation and service improvement projects, supporting improved outcomes for children, young people, and families, while also driving efficiency and cost control.
Key Details
* Rate: £450 per day
* Contract Length: 3+ months (ongoing)
* Location: Nottingham (hybrid working may be available)
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver transformation projects across Children’s Services and Education
* Support interventions for children and families both in and out of care
* Manage commissioning-related projects and service improvement initiatives
* Deliver and embed strategies across:
* Fostering
* Children in Care
* Leaving Care
* First Response
* Develop and monitor KPIs
* Produce project initiation documentation and monthly highlight reports
* Build robust, data-driven business cases
* Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and benefits realisation
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience delivering transformation within Children’s Services Social Care
* Ability to work effectively with Directors, Heads of Service, and frontline practitioners
* A proactive, “can-do” approach to change management in challenging environments
* A recognised professional Project Management qualification
Additional Information
* This role does not have an IT focus
* Candidates must demonstrate successful delivery of non-IT transformational projects within Children’s Services
* Strong change management skills are essential to embed a culture of continuous improvement

* Reporting directly to the Transformation Delivery Lead
