Commercial Director – Expanding Communications Coaching Company – to £100k DOE + comm & equity – London (Hybrid)

Our client is a fast-growing communications coaching business with a highly successful dual model: a well-established consumer division helping individuals become more confident, authentic presenters and speakers, and a rapidly expanding B2B arm serving an impressive portfolio of global organisations.


With a combined turnover exceeding £2million (£1.6m B2C and £0.45m B2B), the business blends psychological insight, practical communication tools, and deep human warmth through its proprietary methodology. The company helps individuals and organisations communicate with clarity, confidence, and emotional intelligence across areas such as public speaking, leadership communication, storytelling, and high-impact client engagement.


The B2B division, although relatively young, is already working with leading organisations including John Lewis, Chanel, Unilever, Santander, Amazon, Airbnb, Booking.com and Compare the Market. With strong demand, established preferred supplier relationships, and significant untapped market potential, the business is now preparing for its next phase of growth.


The company’s ambition is to grow combined turnover to £6m+ by 2029, driven in large part by the expansion of the B2B division.


As the business enters this exciting stage, the Founder is seeking an exceptional Commercial Director to lead revenue growth and strengthen the organisation’s commercial engine. Building on strong foundations, you will take responsibility for driving commercial performance across the organisation, with a particular focus on accelerating the growth of the B2B division. Working closely with the Founder, you will bring structure, momentum, and commercial rigour to the business while helping to build a scalable and sustainable sales engine.



The role:

* Take ownership of the company’s commercial strategy, revenue growth, and B2B expansion
* Personally drive early B2B sales momentum, leveraging your own senior relationships, network, and proactive outreach
* Lead complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders across large organisations
* Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for enterprise and mid-market clients
* Build and develop a high-performing sales function, introducing robust sales methodologies (HubSpot, MEDDIC or similar)
* Establish clear pipeline management, forecasting discipline, and commercial reporting
* Introduce more proactive outbound business development, complementing existing inbound demand
* Act as the primary operational point of accountability, offering senior oversight, guidance and continuity during the Operations Director’s maternity leave, supported by an established second-in-command
* Strengthen strategic client relationships built on trust, warmth, and credibility
* Support the operational leadership of the business during a period of growth, providing senior oversight and stability
* Introduce commercial structure around pricing, margins, contracts, and delivery models
* Ensure the B2C division continues to execute effectively on its strong foundations
* Champion the company’s mission, voice, and human-centred culture in all internal and external interactions
* Manage a small but expanding team



Skills and experience required:


* Proven commercial leadership experience within small, scaling, or founder-led organisations
* Strong B2B sales leadership background, ideally at Commercial Director, Sales Director, CRO, COO, or equivalent senior level
* Demonstrated success in enterprise or complex B2B sales environments
* Experience building or scaling sales functions, processes, and systems
* Background within learning & development, HR tech, coaching, people development, or broader human capital sectors would be highly advantageous
* Ability to operate comfortably at both strategic and hands-on levels
* High emotional intelligence, with the ability to lead with calm authority, empathy, and values-driven decision making
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action and delivery
* Gravitas and credibility with senior clients and internal teams
