Senior Finance Business Partner
Salary: Up to £63,489 per annum
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will lead a team of Finance Business Partners and play a pivotal role in ensuring the Council’s financial stability, integrity and performance.
In this key strategic role, you will provide high-quality financial advice to Heads of Service, support robust budget setting, monitoring and forecasting, and lead the production of clear and insightful financial reporting. You will take day-to-day ownership of the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, helping the organisation respond to emerging pressures, funding changes and savings requirements. You will also play a central role in preparing the Council’s draft and final budget, contributing to Member briefings and shaping future financial planning.
As a leader, you’ll motivate and develop your team, champion continuous improvement and ensure our financial processes remain strong, effective and well-understood across the organisation. You’ll work collaboratively with Corporate Finance on year-end closedown and audit, support work on the Capital Programme and cashflow forecasting, and contribute to major future-facing projects such as Local Government Reorganisation.
What we’re looking for:
* Full CCAB qualification (CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA)
* Experience in a similar Local Authority finance role (desired)
* Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving
