We have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Structural Engineers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.
Job Summary
The Structural Engineer Consultant will be responsible for carrying out structural and steelwork engineering support for energy projects from conception to completion.
Responsibilities:
* Managing or participating in the design of steelwork structures to ensure compliance with Civil and Mechanical Nuclear Standards.
* Working with CAD designers to prepare design drawings and models.
* Controlling calculation notes, analytical models, and design drawings.
* Maintaining company and customer QA procedures in the delivery of civil design for nuclear reactor sites.
* Managing engineering changes by liaising with concrete structures, pipes, electrical, and ventilation interfaces design management teams.
* Liaising with project stakeholders (design offices, construction teams, project management).
* Writing related technical documents to support delivery.
* Participating in technical communities to support staff development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
* Senior/principal level experience in detailed design of Steel Structures.
* Chartership status or actively undergoing attaining Chartership through a recognised international body.
* Experience working on material interfaces, high-hazard industries (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Energy, Heavy process Industry or Bridge).
* On-site design support is beneficial.
* Previous experience mentoring junior engineers.
* Familiarity with Robot / Rstab / STAAD Pro (or similar software).
* Civil Standards knowledge (Eurocodes / ETC-C / RCC-CW).
* TEKLA Structures knowledge (a plus).
