Job Description
PQA, a leading provider of weekend performing arts training, is currently recruiting a freelance Comedy & Drama teacher for their Academy in Leeds North & Bardsey on a Saturday - 9.30-13.00 for 41 weeks of the year.
You will have strong drama subject knowledge and the skills to be able to teach a range of engaging projects to young people aged 6-18 - from Improv to Stand Up, Shakespeare to contemporary text and Immersive to Devised Theatre.
PQA follows safer recruitment processes. An enhanced DBS on the update service will be required and can be arranged.
Job Requirements
Practical experience in education and/or industry and secure subject knowledge in a broad spectrum of drama skills and genres.
A genuine interest in and passion for developing performance and life skills in children aged 6 to 18 from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
A commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities
Planning and delivery of age-appropriate workshops and classes in drama and comedy for children and young people.
Preparation and rehearsal of material to be presented in a range of showcases, performances and films.
A willingness to work as part of a small, energetic team and to contribute to the wider life of the academy.
