Instrument Coordinator The Chiltern Hospital 20 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £28,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a part time role for 20 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required. Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules. Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies. Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability. Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting. Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling, and decontamination processes. Good communication and teamworking skills with a professional and reliable approach.
