Main duties of the job
* Assist in configuration and maintenance of end‑user devices, including desktops, VDIs, laptops, mobile devices and their applications.
* Work under the guidance of senior engineers and digital teams to ensure efficient operation of EUC systems, adhering to NHS standards and protocols.
* Provide technical support to resolve EUC issues and incidents efficiently. Diagnose problems, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to minimise downtime and disruptions to healthcare services.
* Assist in implementing basic security measures to protect EUC environments and sensitive data. Manage antivirus software, ensure compliance with security policies, and support efforts to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
* Contribute to the improvement and optimisation of EUC infrastructure through attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality technical support for patients and staff.

Qualifications
* Relevant degree level or equivalent, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* ITIL Foundation.
* Relevant subject‑matter qualification (e.g. Microsoft/Cisco/VMWare) or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of using IT Service Management (ITSM) Systems.
* Able to work within a team and independently to resolve complex technical faults and issues.
* Some knowledge of common alternative subject‑matter systems such as Unix, Linux, OS X.
* Knowledge of working in a Healthcare IT environment.
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills suitable for a range of audiences.
* Ability to manage priorities for self, staff and teams in order to meet targets.
* Advanced and accurate keyboard skills.
* Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to cover core support hours on a shift/rota basis.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
