Job Summary
We are seeking a Trainee or Apprentice Mechanic & Dynamometer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in vehicle maintenance and repair. This role requires a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
The role would suit someone with good hands on mechanical skills looking for more variety in their working day.
We are a long-term established family run workshop and dyno tuning centre looking for a trainee dyno technician to join our team. We are not a pressurised workshop; we focus on quality above speed.
This is a full-time position although we are open to flexible hours. The workshop is rural so own transport will be a necessity, travel allowance available to ease transportation costs for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* You will be taught to safely strap down and set up vehicles on the rolling road.
* You will be taught to run the vehicles up for a power run
* You will be taught to assist with the setup for tuning and testing thereafter.
* You will be trained to perform routine maintenance tasks, including servicing & basic fitting work.
* You will be taught to diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual techniques.
* You should be able to do demonstrate an eagerness to progress and improve skill set. Training Support, Technical data and Specialist tooling all provided.
* You will be taught Diesel Works including DPF / EGR / Walnut Blasting as part of the role and full training will be given for these tasks.
Requirements
* The ideal candidate will be in progress of NVQ qualification for Light Maintenance & Repairs & have some experience in a workshop environment.
* A good basic understanding automotive mechanical system and a willingness to learn at the very least.
* Must have own transport & be happy to commute along with a full driving license
* Must like working on cars, have a genuine keen interest in modified cars and classic vehicles
* Must be able to work on your own at times without getting distracted or being lazy
* Must have good hand skills, be able to use a car ramp and have your own tools along with an eagerness to get more tools
* Help and guidance will be available for the successful candidate in any areas needed. Extensive tooling, technical data and full support provided.

Salary will be negotiable depending on individual circumstances and experience starting from minimum wage upwards. Also offering a £250 Sign-Up Bonus for the successful candidate.
