As an Associate Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex building services projects, managing multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong client relationships.
Tetra Tech, a global leader in high‑end consulting and engineering services, is seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer to join their Building Services team in either Birmingham or Leicester.
Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical or electrical design process from concept to completion.
* Oversee the production of detailed calculations, specifications, and technical drawings.
* Manage project delivery, including resource planning, budgeting, and quality assurance.
* Conduct site inspections and support construction‑stage activities.
* Collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
* Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
* Contribute to business development, fee proposals, and bid submissions.
* Promote sustainable design and innovation across all projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
* Proven experience delivering building services projects within a consultancy environment.
* Strong leadership and project management skills.
* Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities.
* Commercial awareness and experience with project cost control.
* Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Hevacomp, IES, Dialux, Relux).
* Full UK driving licence.
