💷 Rate: £37.02 per hour via Umbrella
🕒 Hours: 35 hours per week + premium overtime rates
📆 Contract: Initial contract until 31st December 2026
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a world-leading aerospace manufacturer, delivering advanced aircraft structures and technologies for global programmes. Based at their flagship Broughton site, this role sits within a specialist Assembly Technologies team supporting the ongoing development and industrialisation of aircraft wing structures. Due to continued investment in manufacturing innovation, they are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Assembly Engineer to support critical technology and improvement projects.
THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INDUSTRIAL ASSEMBLY ENGINEER ROLE
As a Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Assembly Engineer, you will play a key role in researching, developing, and deploying new drilling and fastening technologies to support wing manufacturing at the Broughton plant. You will combine strong technical expertise with project management capability to deliver new equipment, improve processes, and support manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Deployment and support of semi-automated and manual drilling & fastening equipment
* Defining and developing new assembly processes and equipment
* Providing technical support to existing machinery and manufacturing operations
* Leading and supporting continuous improvement and EHS projects
* Managing capital investment projects and leading multi-functional teams
* Interfacing with internal stakeholders, transnational teams, and external suppliers
* Delivering productivity improvements and supporting ME communities
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Strong technical background in shop floor manufacturing processes
* Experience with drilling and/or fastening processes (preferred)
* Understanding of aircraft wing build processes
* Experience supporting semi-automated and manual equipment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
* Well-organised with strong attention to detail
* Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering is desirable
