Screening Engagement and Communications Coordinator
ScreenSouth Ltd provides screening services for BreastScreen Aotearoa, the National Cervical Screening Programme, and the National Bowel Screening Programme.
We are looking for a Screening Engagement and Communications Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will facilitate regional coordination for breast screening, lead and contribute to equity-focused initiatives across breast, cervical, and bowel screening and have oversight of social media activities and health promotion materials. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to improve equitable access to screening services for Māori, Pacific Island, and other priority groups.

Note: this role is based in Ōtautahi and requires some travel to the Otago Southland region.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and chair quarterly regional stakeholder hui in the Otago Southland region, including travel to the region to build relationships and influence cross-sector collaboration
Lead the development of a breast screening Equity and Improvement Regional Coordination Plan for the Otago Southland region ensuring cross sector and community involvement, especially from wāhine Māori and Pacific Island women
Lead our social media to raise awareness of breast, cervical and bowel screening, increasing engagement and encouraging participation and uptake of ScreenSouth services, including development of a breast-screening focused social media presence within the Otago Southland region
Maintain oversight of creative outputs and resources, including poster development, resource stocktake and ordering, and managing promotional assets
Ensure a thorough understanding of and compliance with relevant policy and quality standards and legislation such as the Health Information Privacy Code and Health Act 1956 and with any other relevant guidelines for appropriate, safe and secure use of health information as advised by ScreenSouth.
Required Skills and Experience:
* A minimum certificate-level qualification in health sciences, health promotion or public health, OR a strong commitment to achieving this within one year of appointment. Individuals must demonstrate prior knowledge of the social determinants of health and/or lived experience of the barriers for whānau to participate in health screening
* Lived experience as Māori or Pacific peoples
* A passion for using social media to promote health and wellbeing, with some experience creating or coordinating content across platforms
* Experience in planning and facilitating stakeholder hui and the ability to influence and lead planning processes
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and communities
* Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and professional reports and documentation
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* A current full driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
