THE OPPORTUNITY
An established independent garage based in Bedminster, Bristol is looking for a time-served Senior Mechanic to join a small, close-knit workshop team. This is a genuine long-term opportunity at a busy, well-regarded local garage that services motorcycles, cars, and vans for a loyal customer base.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a management role, with the current owner planning to step back from day-to-day operations within five years.
THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
* Routine and major servicing on cars, vans, and motorcycles
* Timing belt and clutch replacements
* Fault diagnosis using Launch diagnostic equipment
* MOT testing (licence held or support provided to obtain)
* Pre- and post-repair quality checks
* Informal mentoring and task delegation to a third-year apprentice
* Maintaining a clean, safe workshop environment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
* Experience: Minimum 6 years' hands-on experience as a qualified mechanic
* Servicing: Confident across full-service schedules including major services
* Timing Belts & Clutches: Proven ability to complete these replacements across a variety of makes and models
* Diagnostics: Competent in vehicle fault diagnosis; Launch scanner experience beneficial
* MOT: Current MOT tester licence, or experience sufficient to obtain one (funded by the garage)
* Location: Must live within 1520 miles of Bedminster, Bristol BS3
Desirable:
1. Experience xxuwjjq mentoring or guiding junior technicians
2. Familiarity with Autodata or similar workshop software
3. Interest in progressing into a management or supervisory role
4. Experience working on VW T4 and T5

WHAT'S ON OFFER
* £35,000 £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience
* Monday to Friday, 08:3017:00 no weekends
* 21 days annual holiday
* MOT tester licence funded by the employer if not already held
* Genuine management progression pathway within 5 years
