Situated in the picturesque village of Fownhope, The Greenman is a historic country inn dating back to 1485. This Grade II listed establishment boasts a rich history, including connections to the Civil War and local magistrates' courts. Culinary excellence is at the heart of The Greenman's offering. The menu showcases locally sourced ingredients, with dishes ranging from pub classics like fish and chips to more gastro chef led options. The bar features a selection of real ales, including Wye Valley Brewery's Butty Bach and HPA, alongside a curated list of wines and spirits. The Greenman also serves as a versatile venue for various events, offering two restaurant areas, a comfortable lounge, a conference room, and a function room. Its beautiful beer garden and proximity to the Wye Valley Walk make it a favoured destination for both locals and visitors seeking a blend of tradition, comfort, and quality service The job in a nutshell Prepare and present dishes to the highest standard across your section Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety practices Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in day-to-day operations Contribute to menu development with seasonal and creative ideas Help train and guide junior kitchen staff What we are looking for: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Commis ready to step up A genuine love of cooking and attention to detail Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills A calm head under pressure and a drive to continuously improve Food hygiene certificate (Level 2 minimum preferred) INDMP Ready to work in a kitchen that runs on trust and talent?
